Introduction
The clinic is made up of a group of dermatologists and related specialists working together in one location so that they may offer integrated patient examinations. This allows them to recognize, diagnose and treat cancerous lesions.
Each patient is evaluated individually, with tests administered using advanced technology and following state-of-the-art protocols. All treatment is precisely matched to the condition, and benefits from multidisciplinary collaboration. Patients also receive relevant information about the necessary measures for skin cancer care and prevention, as well as how to recognize possibly troublesome lesions.
Information
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in humans and is currently considered to represent a global epidemic; with early detection, however, it may be curable.
There are two types of skin tumor: benign or non-cancerous which originate in skin tissue; and malignant or cancerous, which may develop in the skin as benign tumors do, but may also arise in another type of tissue and metastasize.
The majority are related to: sun exposure, repeated medical-industrial radiation, scarring from certain disorders or burns, occupational exposure to arsenic and tars, genetic disease or family history.
Skin cancer manifests in many forms, and it is very important to detect the recent appearance of a sore; or any change in color, texture or size of an existing mole or other skin lesion.
